Welcome To

Planting ideas 4 free.

A hub for free Revit automation scripts, tools, and the occasional rabbit hole worth going down. Most of what lives here is built around pyRevit, but you’ll find other experiments, tutorials, and ideas that branch out into whatever problem needs solving that week.

Worth noting, this is a hobby project, so things get built when time allows, and inspiration strikes. But everything shared here is built to actually work.

The advances in AI have made a real difference to how fast this stuff gets built. Debugging and prototyping that used to take weeks of trial and error can now go from idea to working script in a fraction of the time. It’s a good time to be building.

Take what’s useful, adapt it, break it, and build something better. That’s the whole point.

The Goal For

Inspiring New Ideas

Seed43 exists as a proving ground for the idea that you don’t need expensive third party subscriptions to get Revit doing what it should do by design.

Using open source tools like pyRevit the goal is simple, build custom automation that fits the way you actually work. No compromises, no recurring costs, no waiting for a vendor to add a feature to their roadmap.

The smartest solutions usually come from the people closest to the problem. That’s you. Seed43 is a place to share those solutions openly so everyone benefits, not just the people who can afford the premium tier.

Explore it, break it, improve it and share it back. The best workflows grow when people stop hoarding ideas and start planting them.

The Vision

To Enterprise Grade Automation

This isn’t just about quick fixes. The goal is to build toward tools that handle the real heavy lifting, the kind of work that eats hours and currently sits behind a paywall.

Think professional transmittal generation, batch printing, and exporting at scale, smart file packaging with project conventions, revision tracking, and formatted PDF output. The kind of workflows that make you wonder why Autodesk hasn’t sorted it out yet, or maybe you have a solution, but they’re charging you monthly for it.

None of this is out of reach. The Revit API is powerful, and the people closest to the work know exactly what needs fixing. That combination is all you need.

We’re just getting started. If you’ve got a workflow that’s begging to be automated, bring it here, contribute an idea, share some code, or just point at the problem. The tools will follow.

About

Unlocking Freedom

As a Revit user, I got tired of the endless cycle of paid add-ins that promise the world, lock you into a subscription, and still somehow miss the mark. So I started building my own.

Seed43 is my personal collection of pyRevit scripts built to automate the repetitive stuff, speed up daily workflows, and fix the small frustrations that add up over time on projects. At some point, it made more sense to share them than keep them to myself.

The name comes from a simple idea. One small script, trick, or hack can grow into something much bigger when you put it out there and let people run with it.

This isn’t about competing with commercial tools. It’s about showing that powerful Revit automation doesn’t have to cost anything. No paywalls, no feature gates, no subscription tiers. Just useful code you can take, improve, and make your own.

If something here saves you a few hours or sparks an idea to build something better, that’s exactly the point. These tools cost a fraction of their commercial value to develop and they’re free because they should be.

Got ideas, fixes, or your own seeds to plant? Fork the repo, open an issue, or just drop in to say hi. Let’s build better workflows together.
